Eight members of Chyangli Community Learning Center got benefit amounts provided for the small entrepreneurs in the village on 11th July 2024.
Chyangli Community Learning Center has started to provide the soft loan as a revolving fund to the persons doing any business in the village since March 2022 in collaboration with ERDCN and TCP Global. Many people have abandoned their business due to the economic crisis after the Covid pandemic. Chyangli CLC has done the agreement with TCP Global as well as ERDCN to provide such soft loan the help the victimized people after the pandemic.
“More than 50 people have got benefits from this programme till now and the people who have abandoned their business and in pain.” Said Rabindra Kandel, president of Chyangli CLC.
“When my husband passed away due to Covid Pandemic and was nearly nothing to do for me, Chyangli CLC helped me providing the funds and kept some goats for my livelihood. Since then I have improved my lifestyle. They also taught me to do the labour.” One of the beneficiary Sharada Kumal said. “Now I have some goats in my home and sell some goats every year . I also work in a poultry farm to earn some money also”, she added.
The other beneficiary Kalpana Pariyar has also a story of her. “Most people pay loans and buy houses and lands after returning from abroad. My husband stayed in abroad for five years and returned on the same day when I got loan from CLC.” I have small business in the village, I have to add some goods in my shop. My shop has been thinning day by day and difficult for me. CLC provided me a soft loan which is very great for me. Soon, I will make a profit and return to CLC, Thanks to CLC”. She said.
Some others have same problems and got the fund from CLC to revive their business.
1000 households of kumal community live in this ward (Palungtar Municipality ward no.7, Gorkha) among 1560 households. They were still backward in the society and getting trouble in many ways.
